Manager of Environmental
Services Craig Phillips developed rigorous standards to
compare brands, prioritizing
durability, a long lifecycle and
minimal maintenance. He opted
for Moen sensor-operated flush
valves and faucets because the
self-cleaning piston technology
eliminated the need to replace
rubber diaphragms, saving
money on parts over the valve’s
lifetime. Since the initial retrofit
in 2012, five more schools have
received fixture upgrades.
